The Music of Cyril Jordan

Cyril Jordan is the one man who was there at the beginning, and the end of the Flamin' Groovies. He created the band in 1966, and disbanded it in 1992. As founder, leader, singer, songwriter, and guitar player of the Flamin' Groovies, Cyril Jordan led the band through a very colorful ride. After many years, he decided to walk away from the music business, and concentrate on his artwork at his San Francisco home.

One thing Cyril Jordan never lost was his love for music, but the business itself was another story.

In the past few years, Cyril has been getting excited about playing music again. At the Bay Pop 2000, Cyril Jordan performed a full set of his music with The Sneetches, and also had the chance to sit in with a reunion of his old friends The Beau Brummels. One year later, Cyril performed with old Flamin' Groovies bandmate Michael Wilhelm (also ex-Charlatans, Loose Gravel) at the Bay Pop 2001. After George Harrison passed away in November, Cyril performed a tribute to George with a band known as the New Moondogs at a special charity event at CD Land in Palo Alto, California. Cyril also backed up Gordon Waller (of Peter and Gordon) at the same venue a few months later.

There was talk of a Flamin' Groovies reunion and documentary, but both projects were put on the back burner for the time being.

Right now, Cyril is very excited about his new band called "The Magic Christian." Here's a rundown of the band members:

Alec Palao - bass (The Sneetches, Chocolate Watchband, The Cuban Heels, more...)
